How does it work?

Email or Call

You can contact me by e-mail or phone. I often get to know a bit about you already then & even what´s caused you to seek help right now, for yourself or for you & others. Our conversations or “sessions” are usually somewhere between 50 minutes and an hour & a half, depending upon how many we are in the room.

The length of a contact varies. It could be just 2 or 3 sessions while some find it meaningful to attend regularly for a longer time. Some contacts stretch over several years.

We start up by meeting a first time to find a common understanding of what you’re going through & what your goal could be for our meetings.
While we’re talking, you have the chance to get a feeling for if I`m the right person to best help you. I´ll also be making my own assessment about that too.
We’ll both be getting a sense of, if our conversation is meaningful.
You, of course are & remain the expert and insider on your experiences & feelings about them.

The therapist accompanies you, with curiosity & encouragement. Together we look for & try to create meaningful themes in what you`ve been through, what you´ve experienced.

Your personal goal

In collaboration we find or create a goal for our meetings & detail a framework, including dates, times & frequency.Vi kommer tillsammans fram till en målsättning och sätter upp ramar för tider, frekvens och omfattning.

A good dialogue about that framework, can open up a discussion about more sensitive issues. We can talk about who you want to invite in & and even what you feel you can talk about.

If you become unhappy about some aspect of the therapist´s behavior that´s worth talking about. It often leads to important & meaningful exchanges.
They can make clear what´s important for you in conversation with me but even in relation to others. That can be valuable material.

When one attends counselling it can feel quite enough to have those conversations. You can even choose to work with our meetings, between sessions & comment on them next time we meet. You can bring notes you´ve made & nightly dreams you´ve had.
Between sessions you can even try to dare things that are a bit scary & then talk then talk about how it felt & went.
It´s my experience that a great deal can happen at home at while you are attending therapy!
